New members, we’d love to hear from you! Reply below and let us know: What's your all-time favorite Gatorade flavor? No questions asked, you get to work with one athlete for a season. Who do you choose? We can’t wait to hear from you! Hi Everyone! My name is Morgan and I have been an athletic trainer for coming up on 2 years. I work in the division 3 setting with football and men's volleyball! I am looking forward to engaging and interacting with all of you! It has been so fun reading all of your introductions as well! My all time favorite Gatorade flavor has to be the OG Yellow. You can't go wrong there. If I had to pick one athlete to work with for a year I would pick one of the Kelce brothers. They are both so funny and seem like great men to be around!

Boosting Supplement Compliance: What’s Working for You? (And a Heads Up on Next Week’s GSSI Pre-Con!)

Hi everyone, I’m reaching out to spark a conversation around something I know many of us are tackling in our day-to-day work: how to increase and measure compliance in athletes who are prescribed vitamin or mineral supplements —especially iron, vitamin D, and magnesium. In my experience, compliance can really vary based on the athlete’s habits and motivation. Some things that have helped improve consistency in my settings include: Pairing supplements with existing routines (e.g., placing supplements next to their toothbrush or pairing them with their pre-fuel, refuel or bedtime snack). Using calendar reminder systems Visual tracking tools in their planners. Frequent check-ins with clear education on why it matters , with sport-specific context if possible. That said, measuring compliance reliably is still tough. Self-reports aren’t always accurate, and bloodwork isn’t always timely or accessible. How are you approaching this? Are you doing anything innovative to track or motivate compliance (tech-based, incentive-driven, coach-supported, etc.)? Is anything working long-term —not just for a week or two? Also— mark your calendars! If you’re attending ASPDA's Gatorade Sports Science Institute Pre-Conference next Wednesday , all of the sessions relate to this conversation: Session 1: Magnesium and Exercise Performance – Stella Volpe, PhD, RD Session 2: Shedding Light on Vitamin D – Enette Larson-Meyer, PhD, RD, CSSD, FACSM Session 3: Iron Deficiency in Athletes – Alannah McKay, PhD Session 4: Research Translation – Matt Pahnke, PhD, GSSI Would love to hear from you: What strategies have worked for you to increase supplement compliance? Any creative ways you’re tracking compliance or the impact the supplementation is having (through bloodwork or something else)? Are you attending the GSSI Pre-Con? Which sessions are you most excited about? Looking forward to learning from this group!
