Hot Topics in Sports Nutrition: Helping Clients Navigate Fact from Fiction

Monday, May 20th | 8:30 AM - 10:30 AM
Kansas City Marriott Downtown, Imperial Ballroom

The field of sports nutrition is evolving at a rate that can make it challenging for practitioners – and the science – to keep up. As the nutrition go-to for coaches and athletes, sports dietitians need to stay abreast of the latest trends while also being mindful of the supporting science. This pre-conference will share recent research on timely topics including hydration, ultra-processed foods and adaptogens and help attendees to navigate fact from fiction as well as how it can benefit athletes.

  • Session 1: Are Ultra-Processed Foods the Latest Dietary Villain? Chris Rosenbloom, PhD, RDN, FAND
  • Session 2: Updates on Hydration: What’s New and How Does it Inform Current Recommendations? Michelle King, PhD
  • Session 3: The Science of Adaptogens and Physical Performance, Vicki Shanta Retelny, RDN
