Gatorade is proud to support the Annual SWATA Symposium and Members Meeting. We will be offering a variety of opportunities to meet with, recognize and support the continuing education of athletic trainers at the conference, including:

Hydration - One Size Does Not Fit All Precon Workshop

July 24: Time TBD
To meet the needs of athletes and help maximize their performance, a tailored approach to hydration based on the sport and the individual is needed. This pre-conference session will provide information on each of the key factors to consider when hydration planning: fluid availability, environment and exercise intensity, and then offer breakout groups focused on the hydration needs of specific athletes.

Gatorade Expo Booth
Date/Time TBD
Stop by the Gatorade booth to sample the newest hydration products, build your own athlete resource toolkit with Gatorade Performance Partner resources, and to connect with local G Force representatives.

Managing Post-Exercise Inflammation - From Ibuprofen to Cherries
Presented by: Roberta Anding, MS, RD, LD, CDE, CSSD
Date/Time TBD
Chronic inflammation in athletes, as a result of training or injury, is often treated with NSAIDS. Although generally recognized as safe, long term use may have deleterious consequences including gastrointestinal and renal complications. This session will examine the alternatives to the management of chronic inflammation—including incorporating anti-inflammatory compounds in the diet such as those found in tart cherries (in addition to many other foods), and inform athletic trainers on how to make the best recommendations for their athletes.

Gatorade Secondary School Athletic Trainer Award Presentation
Date/Time TBD
The Gatorade Secondary School Athletic Trainer Award recognizes a certified athletic trainer from each NATA district who has made outstanding contributions in furthering their high school’s athletic care program and the overall profession of secondary school athletic training.
